Yulelogs was rescued back in 1989 by a marine park in the north of England
Being rescued once back in 1989 in the north of England as a tiny pup, Yulelogs the seal was living in the marine park with other animals. However, the park was unfortunately closed for some reason, all of the animals were released to the wild, including Yulelogs.
“Three months after his release, Yulelogs was rescued by the RSPCA after receiving calls from concerned members of the public saying he had been chasing people with buckets on the beach, believing they contained fish.” – Cornish Seal Sanctuary, the second and forever home of Yulelogs, spoke on their website.
After some time, the park closed and the seal was released back into the wild
He was only 132lb (60kg), meanwhile, the standard of a healthy seal was 551lbs (250kg). The seal must have been starving so he behaved slightly appropriately. It was such a real deal for Cornish Seal Sanctuary when they adopted Yulelogs, they had to feed and take care of him for better welfare.
“It was apparent he needed care, so the RSPCA asked the Cornish Seal Sanctuary if they would provide a permanent home for him.” – The website explained more.
Later, the seal was rescued once again, since apparently, he had no idea how to feed himself and had become too used to humans
And look at him now, lady and gentleman! On Yulelogs’s 31st birthday, he was spoiled on his special day with a giant ice cake filled with fish. Internet people adored the way the seal was getting healthier and happier, they gave a lot of compliments on his celebration. And that was also the sanctuary’s happiness.
“Yulelogs absolutely loved his birthday cake.” – Georgina Shannon, the marketing and media coordinator for the sanctuary, said.
Now Yulelogs lives in Cornish Seal Sanctuary and he just turned 31
“It’s a great form of enrichment for him also, as it requires a bit of thinking on how to get the fish out of the cake! – She continued.
