Since the invention of wet food, the internet is possibly the best thing that has happened to cats. It proved once again that our gorgeous cats are magnificent and deserve a loving home regardless of their appearance. Last month, the Morris Animal Refuge in Philadelphia tested the internet’s love for beautiful cats by introducing Mr. B, a large 26-pound cat. While it’s understandable that this cat’s gigantic size would make it difficult to find a home, some refused to accept it.

Instead, people inundated the shelter with pleas to adopt the “jumbo-sized gift of fluff and love,” causing their website to crash.

It’s difficult to say whether the shelter expected such attention, but it was well earned. The post introducing the lovely chubby cat went viral almost immediately, with 13k retweets and more than 47k likes. People’s love for chonks should not be underestimated!

However, if you believe Mr. B’s internet stardom is over, you’re wrong. The new owner is well aware of how quickly people fell in love with the adorable cat, and they have no intention of keeping him away from his adoring fans.
