It’s everyone’s issue that we used to be bullied when we were in the schooling childhood, and in this case, a 10-year-old boy Madden with his unique bilateral cleft lip is in the same situation. Surprisingly, he found his true friend, his most matching spirit animal to deal with the body-shaming mini bullies!

Nothing about this friendship between 10-year-old Madden and a rescue cat Moon is ordinary
Madden’s mom, Christina Humphreys, who joined a cleft mom group stood up for her son’s right. She saw a friend who posted a kitty who had the same appearance as Madden: a cleft lip and heterochromia iridum (2 different colored eyes).
“We knew immediately that this kitty was meant to be part of our family. Not only does he have a cleft lip like our 7-year-old son Madden, but he also has complete heterochromia iridium, like Madden. They were destined to be best friends. Funny how a pet can make you feel less alone.” – Mom shared 3 years ago.
Both were born with a cleft lip paired with a rare eye condition called heterochromia iridum, existing in less than 1% of the population

For the sake of Christina’s child uniqueness, she adopted the cat and they named him Moon. The kid Madden turned the tables of his life chapter, washed away all the judgemental thoughts that they labeled him.
To know more about the rare condition in the world heterochromia iridum, here is the definition: “Heterochromia iridum is when a part of the iris has at least two colors. Complete heterochromia iridum, where the eyes are completely different colors altogether, is quite rare, existing in less than 1% of the population, I’m told. That plus the cleft lips is exceptionally rare.”
“I’m stunned at how this all played out” Madden’s Mom explained. “It sounds silly, but fate willed these two together”
Madden found the righteous friendship of his path, and he is still young! It’s good to know that no matter who we are, it matters how we choose to live. The happy family chose to chase love and kindness, and it is worthy.
“We’re usually not spontaneous people, but we knew that we were meant to love this kitty. Moon, the kitty, and Madden are the perfect companions for each other. In a world full of bullies and hateful words, we will choose to chase love. I think it’s safe to say that this kitty is love, and was certainly meant to be part of our journey and Madden’s journey.”

“The bullying still rears its nastiness once in a while, but the only thing we can do is try to change our perception on bullies”

Madden also has two brothers, “I had no intention of our family getting attention from this at all…”
“But if anything does get attention, I truly hope it benefits kids with cleft lips if only to raise awareness”
