Cat Gets Injured And Can’t Leave Home So His Owner Makes Him Art Gallery To Cheer Him Up

Staying at home in the lockdown is not really a bad thing since human’s mind is a field of creativity. Thinking out of the box is the best practice for everyone at this challenging time, that was what Jake Lambert and Jessica Atkins thought about when their kitty Richard Parker was also in the same situation. And yeah, like, who wants their cat to be sad all the time?

Being in the quarantine period for more than 2 months, the cat owners knew how boring their kitty was since he just couldn’t hang out and see his feline fellows, thus, the foot injury made it worse, they decided to hold a kitty exhibition to cheer the cat up.

A stand-up comedian Jake Lambert and his girlfriend, senior veterinary nurse Jessica Atkins teamed up to created a small gallery exclusively for the only VIP visitor: 4-year-old Richard Parker.

“It was my girlfriend Jess’ idea. Our cat Richard Parker hurt his foot so he couldn’t go outside and as we couldn’t because of lockdown, we thought how maybe he’s missing his cat friends, so we made a gallery so he could look at other cats.” – Jake explained.

Inspired by the Fat Cat Art adorable collection, the couple printed out 11 cat-sized famous painting photos and made cardboard frames for all of it. They also noticed how the smallest details of the exhibition look like so the JJ couple spent a little bit more time on making a rope barrier to keep the distance from the paintings and also small signs for the visitors — to not take photographs or eat and drink.

“It took about an hour to make, and he’s spent hours enjoying it.” – Jake expressed how cheerful and artsy the cat was.

As you can see, these paintings are recreated by Fat Cat Art, they borrowed some famous works of art such as the Mona Lisa by Leonardo da Vinci and works by Pablo Picasso and Claude Monet and made a little funny twist: all the heads are replaced with the kitties’ ones. Richard Parker was pouring his grateful for Fat Cat Art creativity by spending hours on watching these arts just like a real art critic!

“Richard Parker is very sociable and affectionate. He loves to play and always comes and greets us at the front door when we come home. He sleeps on our bed with us and hangs out with us all day. He’s a very cool cat and we’re very lucky. The paintings we used were by Fat Cat Art. Richard Parker has one eye as someone shot him when he was 6 months old (he’s now 4.) We never found out who shot him. But he’s super resilient.”
