Dog Copies His Owner’s Limp Leg Out Of Sympathy, Causing The Owner To Spend $400 On The Vet

When we say: “Like owner, like dog”, it means that our dogs’ personalities usually bear great similarities to ours. But in some situations, the saying is applied literally. This doggo Bill the lurcher in London copied his owner’s limping behavior and the owner, Russell Jones, got it all on tape. The video was posted on Facebook and immediately received positive responses from all the dog lovers for how hilarious it was. With 40K likes and 55K shares so far, it seems like people are not yet over it.

Russell Jones, the owner, was injured and had his leg placed in a plaster cast. One day, when he was taking Bill out for a walk, he saw the dog was hopping next to him with one leg off the ground. He was scared that Bill might be hurt, so he took Bill to the vet for a check-up. Turned out, there was nothing wrong with Bill. He did what he did just so that his owner could feel sympathized. “Cost me £300 in vet fees and X-rays, nothing wrong, just sympathy. Love him,” in the video caption he Russell shared.

The way Bill imitated Russell’s walk, it was clear that he had so much love and compassion for his owner

Dog Pretends To Walk With A Limp Like Their Injured Owner Out Of Sympathy

This dog’s owner broke his ankle and limped while walking. The dog also pretended to limp, copying his owner as both of them walked on the street. Mr Jones p…

To explain the reason why Bill had such behavior, according to Cesar’s Way, many animals tend to imitate others within the species. Dogs, however, belong to a small group that also imitate individuals across species.

“But dogs not only imitate other dogs — they copy what we do as well. What’s even crazier is that they have been known to do so even when the imitation doesn’t benefit them.” stated in the article.

It was obvious that Bill’s intention when copying his owner’s action was completely out of love. Hopping around on three legs did not benefit him at all, but he still did it so that Russell would feel empathized in such a difficult situation. This also showed that Bill considers Russell as the “true leader” of the pack as dogs are actually pack animals. They follow and imitate their leader.

People got super excited seeing Bill’s reaction and started sharing their own experience
