The loss of a furry friend is always a heart-rending moment for this black kitty. Even though when Zeus the cat and Sam the passed pooch hadn’t had an affectionate bond like other pet pairs physically, there is something vulnerable hidden behind Zeus. His heart has a certain place for Sam, who passed away, but no one knew until he was spotted sniffing and claiming Sam’s old collar.

Emma Catanzarite the owner shared a story about their durable friendship on social media. It is no surprise that a lot of people were in mourning for the golden retriever dog Sam and the heartbreaking act of Zeus. Unlike other kitties who appear to get away from dogs, Zeus the cat loved to be around Sam.
“Zeus always tried to cuddle with Sam and play with him, but Sam was always uninterested.” – Emma said.
“Zeus loved to tease him all the time.”

While Zeus was cheerful and playful with Sam, all of the sudden, Sam crossed the rainbow bridge, leaving Zeus nothing but a broken heart. The whole family was devastating with the loss of the dog, what could a cat do while he couldn’t even speak out what was on the bottom of his heart?
“Zeus seemed really lonely after Sam passed away.” – Emma shared.
“He followed my mom around a lot more during the day and he meowed a lot after he died like he was looking for him. The day Sam died, we had him wrapped in a blanket and my mom came in the room to find Zeus sleeping on top of him like he finally got the chance to cuddle with him.” – She continued.

The sorrow had been haunting Emma as well as Zeus. After the dog’s passing, Emma’s brother placed Sam’s old collar on the bookshelf in his room to honor his lovely presence and fulfillment. Emma came across the room and saw Zeus the cat was scenting and immediately climbing on the bookshelf to grab the blue collar which his old friend usually put on.
“I saw Zeus sniffing by the bookshelf and then he jumped up and sat right by the collar.” – the owner said.
“It made me so sad seeing how happy he was to find it and finally smell Sam again.” – She burst into tears.

However, Zeus seemed slightly delightful when he found the memory of Sam. I guess Sam must have been happy and thankful in heaven, where he enjoys love and grace. Having an endearing cat in life is a never regretful decision of Sam. Emma found joyfulness in the cat’s eyes and she thought the collar had lifted him up a lot.
