Fellas, this lady is probably Bonnie in a cat form. First, she stole the owner’s heart by her doll-like look, now she steals everything around the neighborhood. That doesn’t mean people get mad at her but lovably call her China the kleptomaniac kitty!

This is China. She steals things from people and brings them to her owner
This cat is cheeky enough to steal stuff as much as possible and she brings it back to her beloved owner Monica. She honestly didn’t know her kitty was a thief, she thought it was just randomness when she first saw China dropped a clean sock of her housemate in front of the door.
“One day, my housemate sent me a text with a picture of all his socks by my door explaining that he was leaving for work and couldn’t find his socks, so he checked my door. It was hilarious! We had to hide the dog poop bags because she would steal the roll and leave a trail of unraveled bags all over the apartment leading to my door.” – Monica said.

China brings home anything people leave outside, like gloves
China the cat started her ‘business’ when she was 2 years old. Monica adopted the badass feline in 2013 when her friend had suddenly spotted 3 little furballs in the yard. China was the weakest among 3 siblings so Monica immediately fell in love with her. The cat owner had another cat Waffles before adopting China. Waffles is not as energetic as China since he has anxiety but they have a great bond with each other.
“She is so sweet and motherly with him and has helped him throughout all my life changes. China is Waffles’ emotional support cat.” – said the owner.

China stealing game is now her routine. She didn’t stop at burglarizing socks but countless small things that people throw away around the neighborhood. China also likes to puzzle her owner with some other relatable things which led Monica thought the pack of cigarettes and the match which were placed at her door was her housemate’s.
And even scissors!
“I was leaving to work one day and found a pack of cigarettes at my entrance. I assumed it was a housemate’s so I put it to the side and thought they’d come back for it. I came back from work and found matches. I was so confused. A few days later more items started appearing and that’s when I pieced it together. She had been burglarizing my neighbor’s yard and wouldn’t stop. I would put everything back in their yard as soon as she dropped it and she would bring them back immediately like ‘Hey! I thought I gave you this!’ so I had to wait until the end of the day to return all the items.”

China’s owner was scared that the neighbors would be mad

The kitty is surprisingly smart, she is loyal as well. I think she just wants to show love to the owner like this cat and this cat. Basically, that is one of the 9 signs when a cat loves you but China the cat has amazed a whole local place with her kleptomaniac characteristic. Sometimes, Monica felt like her cat outdid a little too much, so she decided to create a “return box” which China can’t reach and people and get back what they lost.
“I couldn’t keep covering for her, so I came clean. I left the neighbors a bag with their items and a note explaining what was going on with my phone number and IG/TikTok contact in case they wanted to see it for themselves. I was so afraid of their response. Luckily, my neighbor contacted me and said that they have an indoor cat and absolutely loved the videos and had no problems with her burglarizing them. They were just glad to know it wasn’t raccoons! I have set up a ‘return box’ that China can’t reach and they can find their missing backyard items.”

Monica also shared that it was unbelievable for some people, they thought a cat would probably bring rodents or unharmful stuff to frighten the owner. Monica decided to set a hidden camera and every China’s ‘achievement’ was recorded. Eventually, people started to learn that it was the truth, they also asked Monica if she could show them more videos about her mischievous feline.

“They would ask me about her and if I had any more videos of her stealing things and my nightly backyard wildlife activities. She’s such a character that I just thought a lot of people would enjoy seeing this, so I started Songs Of My Felines.”
