During the pandemic which would be prolonged for some more months, people now are used to staying home and enjoying the company on the daily basis. Especially, pets are the creatures who have long for closeness with their owners most. Not just only human relationships are getting stronger but also pet-human ones have the same engagement. Now, we are gradually alternating from having movie dates at the cinema to chilling at home with our beloved ones and binge-watching Netflix. There is one cat who has such a broad knowledge of judging which movie deserves to have Cannes awards.
I present you, movie connoisseur, Ella the senior cat!

Ella was adopted by Emily, who had been growing up with dogs when she was little. Emily and her husband had a gap when it comes to pet preferences. Emily is more like a dog person while her husband is madly in love with cats. He wants to adopt every single cat whenever he sees in the shelter. But Emily doesn’t feel the same and she said she felt guilty when she confronted her husband that she didn’t have any connection with cats. One day, during the Christmas season, they both went to the shelter to find one cat who could win over Emily’s heart. Looking through all the cute kitties, only one 11-year-old lady came up to Emily and licked her. Immediately, Emily was adopted!

From that day, Emily fell in love with a grown-up cat who was ignored because of her age. Normally, people prefer adopting kittens to raising big ones. A big notion that has been spread throughout the world is pets have more chances to adapt and interact with the owner than ones who are already fully grown. Ella and Emily are going against the majority and they are right. Ella is an affectionate and picky kitty, she loves watching some particular movies. If the movie is high-quality enough from a cat’s perspective, Ella would ask Emily to watch it again. The go-to movie of Ella is “The Grinch” but only with the Benedict Cumberbatch version.

Emily didn’t really realize Ella’s hobby until she saw Ella was silently watching a random movie when she was working from home.
“It was around the holiday season and I was exhausted. So I always put on the TV just for myself because I like having some sort of white noise in the background. The movie was coming on was “The Grinch”. And she paused, she just stared at it the entire time.” – Said Emily.
At first, Emily was a little bit doubtful because she thought it was a coincidence. She tried pausing while Ella was watching, within one second, the cat gave her owner a thousand-yard stare until Emily put it back on. A hobby became a routine when Emily found out about Ella’s fulfillment. She would pick herself a nice and comfy position to sit and enjoy her favorite movie.

“She will come get us and lead us to the couch.” – The owner shared.
“Movies brought us closer together. I think it just has made her love on us more because even if I have the TV on but it’s not what she wants, she’ll at least come and sit next to us.” – She continued.
Currently, Ella is now a famous TikToker with the name EllawatchesTV, a lot of people suggest some cool movies and they want to know what reaction of Ella about that movie is. Emily once realized Ella was not just only a movie addict, she was also in love with Nicki Minaj’s music. Emily also set up a streaming profile just for Ella on Netflix and other platforms.

That how love is. You might not like a cat, but now they already have a space in your heart. You might not love watching movies but you are always willing to please their commands because you just want them to be happy and live the best life. Ella has her new movie-watching companion, Jovie. She is a curious tortoiseshell kitty and she loves to hang around with Ella. The bestie duo is definitely a big joy in Emily’s family.
