Being a vegan and having a strong connection with living things in nature, Lauren Maners is a woman who really loves animals and she can’t slip any chance to help the poor little ones out of the predicaments. She usually volunteers to help shelters and fosters pets until they find a forever home. It was not until one day Lauren was pregnant so she decided to take a break for the future ahead. Dove the cat was the one whom Lauren wanted to rescue before settling everything down.

Dove is a white little cat who was found in a parking lot but she wasn’t alone at all. She was bringing a litter of kittens inside her belly, which meant the kitty was pregnant too! Lauren and her husband Kainan Maners brought her to the vet without a second thought. Knowing that the babies were totally healthy, Dove knew Lauren was her pregnant human bestie ever since. They became close-knit and Dove didn’t leave Lauren’s side. Lauren adopted the kitty, she also received the news that Dove would give birth at the same time as her. Lauren was so excited to welcome her first daughter Kylie and Dove’s six cutest kittens.

Speaking about Dove, Lauren shared the reason why she wanted to adopt the cat while she was in pregnancy.
“I and my husband found Dove extremely skinny and injured on the side of the road. I attempted to find her owners and then was informed that she was a stray and had been eating out of a dumpster of a nearby cafe for over a year. All of our no-kill shelters were full and I couldn’t just leave her knowing that she was going to have to take care of her babies in the wild.”

Right after posting a photo of her and Dove with the caption: “Had an exclusive Pregnant Girls Club meeting with my newest rescue, Dove. Does anyone want to guess who’s going to pop first?”, Lauren’s influence was getting bigger and wider. People applauded the beautiful pregnant friendship and they gave a lot of predictions for the funny question above. Everybody was amazed at how awesome it was when they gave birth the same day.

Even though she had to deal with lots of difficulties when she was pregnant during the pandemic, Lauren was still happy and felt loved when she had Dove by her side. They were supporting each other to get over the ups and downs.

“I had a difficult pregnancy I suffered from extreme sickness and ended up having to be induced due to complications. Plus having a baby in the peak of Covid.” – She said.
“I and Dove had an instant bond. It was like she also knew that I was pregnant and that I was a friend. She was not instantly trusting of my husband the way she was of me.” – Lauren continued.

Soon after that, Lauren was officially Kylie’s mom! She gave birth to a little cute girl with joyfulness and tears. Lauren said when the family returned home, they saw a litter of six tiny kittens was happily cuddling their mother Dove.

“I am not certain that we have birth on the exact same day I just know that when I returned from the hospital with my baby – Dove had also given birth while I was gone. Now Dove and her babies are all doing great. They all got properly vetted and rehomed and are all living spoiled indoor lives.” – She was content with what had happened to her and the cat.

Dear cat lovers, here is what Lauren the animal enthusiast wants us to take away from her precious experience: “I feel like animals are capable of much more emotional depth than most humans give them credit for. So I knew that I had to bring dove in and give her a safe place to have her babies without having to worry and fight for their survival. I related to that being pregnant and about to have my own child.”
