Meet Samson, a 28-pound (13-kg) Maine Coon cat from New York City who dwarfs both domesticated cats and wild bobcats. This fluffy cat is about 4 feet long and has been dubbed “New York City’s largest cat.” In fact, he could be the world’s largest feline. The current Guinness World Record holder, a massive cat measuring 4.04 feet, died in 2013.
Jonathan Zurbel, Samson’s owner, told that, “Samson is a very adorable cat but also a tough one, who fits the phrase gentle giant quite well.” “He isn’t fat or overweight, but he is a robust, sturdy cat,” the cat’s father explained. “He sits on my belly and waits outside my (bedroom) door first thing in the morning. He is a really sweet, gentle, and well-behaved cat. He’s a fantasy cat.”

Meet Samson, the mighty kitty who weighs 28 lbs and is around 4 feet in length
“He plays a great game of fetch and follows me around the house like a dog,” says Zurbel, a music producer.
Samson, on the other hand, refuses to walk on a leash, which he despises. Instead, Zurbel pushes him in a green pet stroller around Williamsburg, Brooklyn.
The pleased papa, who got the cat from his older brother, says, “He gets a lot of attention from strangers.” He’d bought the kitten from a breeder in southern New Jersey, but due to his work schedule, he had to give him up.
“He attracts hordes of photographers,” Zurbel adds. “A lot of people’s comments are, ‘Holy s – – t!’ Is that a feline? That’s a lion, right there! Is it a bobcat?”

This Maine Coon has been dubbed “the largest cat in NYC”
It’s not simple to look after such a massive cat. Every week, he consumes up to six cans of wet food and numerous bags of dry food. He also consumes approximately 4 pounds of litter per week and requires $120 grooming every few months to maintain his fluffy appearance.
The gigantic kitty, according to Zurbel, is worth the trouble. He describes him as a “really good kitty.” “He’s kind and affectionate.” He’s also a rising Instagram celebrity, with over 228,100 followers on his @catstradamus account.
“Cats, if there is one thing that governs the Internet, it is cats,” Zurbel explains. “Building an organic following didn’t take long.”
But don’t call Samson a fat cat, even though he weighs in at 28 pounds.
“He is truly tall, broad, heavy, and powerful. He’s a huge, well-proportioned man. Carolyn Ayala, his groomer, describes him as a “very huge Maine coon.” “I’ve groomed a lot of obese cats, but [he’s] not one of them… He’s the Fabio of felines. He’s a lovely giant,” says the narrator.
