This Couple’s Wedding Photos With Their Fat Cat Are Adorable

Fat cat is always Kiah Berkeley’s favorite, so when she first saw a tabby feline with a huge physique measured at 35 pounds named Symba, she knew it was her destiny. A chubby cat was happily adopted at the Humane Rescue Alliance’s shelter by the new parents: Kiah Berkeley and Peter Sorkin. He was also living with 2 other cats, Motzie and Two Patch. Symba was renamed Vito, Vito the chubby purr ball!

The couple brought a chubby kitty home with joy but Vito was not completely over with his distress old life:

“When he first arrived, he was still grieving for the loss of his old owner and his old life, which we know nothing about.”- Berkeley said.

“He’d kind of curl up, wedged between the bed and the wall with his back to us. He was smelly, and he just wasn’t well”

Vito’s arrival seemed not quite excited since those two cats were not cool with him, even though Vito started to get out of his shell and embrace his new chapter with loving human parents: “He’s really wanting to be friends with our other two cats, but it’s been pretty slow-going.” – Berkeley said.

“There was a lot of hissing when he first moved in – by the other cats, not by him.”

“He slowly started coming out of his guest room… and then he started coming into our room and coming onto our bed”

To make up the sorrow of Vito, the couple started to give him a spot to shine! They reached to their photographer friend Kriti Odom after having a not so cool idea and the thought Vito would not be fond of it: using him as the ring bearer. Kriti loved the story and the appearance of Vito so she gave the newlywed a complimentary gift for their wedding in the house with the cat.

“We actually did those photos a few days after our wedding. We just put our wedding clothes back on, and she and her photography partner Darren came over, and we had some beers, and took some pictures with the cat.” – Berkeley said.

As people would think the cat will freak out and not cooperate with the session, Vito was not that super thrilled until his last straw with Uncle Sam hat after two-hour photoshoot.

Without knowing the reason of being that big of Vito since he was not a big eater, the couple love him anyways, all of his curves and his purrs!
