Woman Found Out That Her Cat Has Been Stealing Neighbor’s Laundry And Totally Not Regretting It

A cat thief is on the loose in Metairie, Louisiana. But it’s no thief creeping on your cat, it’s the cat who is committing the crime.

The quarantine got us all locked up inside, so we get to have extra time to be with our pet, right? But Heathe Bardi’s family cat – Admiral Galacticat, is just fed up with staying at home much as we do, so he asked his mama to open the door for a roam around the hood, she agreed. However, ever since Admiral Galacticat got to explore outside, something weirdly funny happened. The more he went out, the more pieces of clothing popped on the Bardi’s front porch.

“I thought like somebody was messing with me,” Heather Bardi told WWL. “We just thought alright maybe someone got drunk and had clothes and had some kind of issue. [But] it keeps happening and happening and happening.”

Concerned about the ongoing situation, Heather and her partner even filed a police report. Galacticat’s mama started to find things fishy here and wondered if the unbothered cat had something to do with it. “We started getting weirded out. Heather bought some surveillance cameras,” Joseph Bardi – her husband said.

To answer the suspicion, they checked the security cam footage and found out more than clues, because the footage was the undeniable proof of Admiral Galacticat stealing people’s laundry!

“Lo and behold it was the cat,” Joseph said.

The ‘trespassing’ and ‘abduction’ were not very difficult to conduct, as the crime scene is just around the corner, and the laundry room wasn’t secure enough, making it easier for Admiral Galacticat to barge in!

Eventually, Heather decided she would give all these pieces back to their owners, so she posted pics of all the evidence in a local Facebook group, explaining how the culprit operated his crime and the escape. The bizarre, yet amusing situation quickly spread among the neighborhood and surely gave Heather’s neighbors both a shock and a chuckle.

When Casey O’Neal’s stuff started vanishing into thin air, he thought it was the normal missing-sock mystery that everyone has during laundry. But a friend nearby showed him Heather’s Facebook post.

“At first I was kind of thinking ‘what kind of idiot lets a cat steal their clothes?’ but then I ended up being that idiot,” O’Neal said. “As soon as she mentioned Nike socks, I was like oh those might be mine.” But O’Neal quickly forgave his feline neighbor.

“I patted him on the head and said ‘look you got to stop doing that,’” he laughed.

Let’s be honest, who could stay mad at this snuggly criminal?

After the ‘burglar’, O’Neal told Heather he is going to secure his laundry room’s door in order to prevent Admiral Galacticat from sneaking in.

The hilarious story perfectly shows just how independent, intelligent and playful cats are and that the washing machine or the dryer isn’t necessarily guilty when your socks go missing, watch out for those neighboring furry friends!
