Woman Hilariously Documents Her Attempt To Take Care Of The Cat Who Wouldn’t Stop Visiting Her

Erin Breean of Austin, Texas, had no idea what she was getting herself into when she took the feline who was continuously visiting her house to the vet. Erin was only interested in seeing if the purportedly male cat, Kevin, whom she and her lover Landon had named, was chipped. Kevin, on the other hand, revealed himself to be full of surprises during the stay. Literally.

Kevin was initially mistaken for a woman. If that wasn’t enough, the vet soon discovered Kevin was expecting a child. Erin, who is a major animal lover, decided to adopt the kitty and assist her in bringing her litter into the world. Erin also documented the whole incident, much to everyone’s delight, and the diary turned out to be completely wholesome.

“Don’t touch me but give me belly rubs?”

Kevin began lurking around Erin and Landon’s terrace in mid-March. She would pay them a visit once or twice a week. However, it wasn’t long before the visits became routine. Erin said that “Catching her was a 4-day process of providing her goodies and ultimately food.”

“My partner Landon gave him (her) the name Kevin during this procedure. Every evening, we would sit on the patio with her for an hour or two, and she would roll around on her back for belly rubs, but she was very wary of us stroking her. However, if we stood up and walked away, she would pursue us.”

Erin eventually began opening her office door for her, assuming she would come in if she so desired. She went ahead and did it. “She walked around my office a few times before lying down in the corridor, as if to say, ‘This is my house now.’ I locked my office door, put her in our bathroom, and called a vet to see whether she was chipped the next day. “We found out she was a girl and pregnant because she wasn’t,” Erin explained.

“The date on the right is the estimated age the vet put down for Kevin. No, this isn’t a conspiracy, lol. The date of the visit was cut off so I could squish the pic in an Instagram story”

Kevin, if Erin had to characterize her in one word, would be talkative. “She talks incessantly from the first time we saw her in the green belt till today on our couch. From the other room, she conducts whole talks with her kittens, which is adorable.”

Murphy, the couple’s dog, was reared with their cat Max (sadly, Max passed away in January of this year, leaving a tremendous void for them all), so he’s no stranger to felines. “At first, we were apprehensive to meet Kevin and Murphy, but Kevin took the initiative and approached him right away, and they’ve been closest friends ever since. He’s smitten with her kittens, and they love to crawl all over him, pounce on his tail, and sneak up on him.”

There was one thing that Erin and Landon worried about. They had never previously cared for kittens or even a female cat, so they were apprehensive at first. “We spent all of our time reading articles about what to expect when your cat is pregnant and requesting advice from friends who had fostered kittens after she had her babies four days after we returned from the vet.”

[adace-ad id=”5696″]

Erin called their local animal shelter, Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter, which provided them with a wealth of information and set them up to ‘foster’ Kevin and her kittens. “This means they’ll all be chipped, fixed, and vaccinated when they’re old enough to go to their everlasting homes!”

“5 days old!”

Erin added, “They have all been adopted.” “They are going in pairs, which we’re quite excited about; two will go to a friend in Austin and two will go to our old roommate in San Francisco. They will be ready to go home in a week, but Kevin has decided to stay with us for good!”
