The meaning of the idiom “cat in the bag” may change as a result of today’s story, as it will not be as metaphorical as it first appears. Workers at the Gorkomhoz utility center in Ulyanovsk were astonished to discover a cat in a bag on December 21st! The sad kitty in the bag was eventually picked up from a conveyor belt only a meter away from the trash separator, indicating that he had probably used one of his nine lives.
Mikhail Tukash was the unwitting hero who saved the cat. They have to cut and examine every bag on the belt line for metals, and he had no idea what he’d find when he picked it up because the cat didn’t move or meow. Because the wound didn’t hurt him, the cat most likely used another of his nine lives. Mikhail peered inside and noticed a pair of lovely cat eyes staring back at him. And then the cat was out of the bag, a lovely black and white one.
The worker expressed his disbelief by shaking his head and telling everyone around him. They came to a halt in the belt line to process what had just happened. The cat was well-fed and cared for, indicating that he was a home cat rather than a stray. They took the cat to the veterinarian right away to have his health checked. The cat exhibited no injuries and had figuratively “landed on his feet,” making the reasons for his prior owners’ “disposal” even more baffling.

Gorkomhoz employees and Ulyanovsk officials, on the other hand, were overjoyed to have rescued such an unexpected present so close to Christmas. Mikhail Tukash, who has two cats, was offered a raise, and the cat was named a deputy Minister by Gulnara Rahmatulina, the Minister of Nature and Cyclical Economy, who is in charge of the animal department. The cat has not received a new name yet, as well as a new identity and job in the Ministry.

Unfortunately, this isn’t the first time an animal has ended up in Gorkomhoz in a similar situation. Two red-eared slider turtles and a lovely albino African pygmy hedgehog (also known as a four-toed hedgehog) named Vezunka were recently rescued in a similar manner. Workers and officials are perplexed by this trend, which they believe is becoming more common. Thankfully, there are people and organizations willing to save them before it’s too late and take them under their wing.
